தண்ணீரின் அளவுதான் அதில் மலர்ந்துள்ள தாமரைத் தண்டின் அளவும் இருக்கும். அதுபோல மனிதரின் வாழ்க்கையின் உயர்வு அவர் மனத்தில் கொண்டுள்ள ஊக்கத்தின் அளவே இருக்கும்.

With rising flood the rising lotus flower its stem unwinds;
The dignity of men is measured by their minds.
