காரணத்தைத் தெளிவாக அறிந்து ஒன்றைச் சொல்ல வேண்டும். அந்தச் சொல் வன்மையைப் போன்ற அறமும், உண்மைப் பொருளும் வேறெதுவும் இல்லை.
Translation:
Speak words adapted well to various hearers' state;
No higher virtue lives, no gain more surely great.
Explanation:
Understand the qualities (of your hearers) and (then) make your speech; for superior to it, there is neither virtue nor wealth.
